So work is making me [B]OOBER BUSY...

and i am having a hard time motivating myself to study...
yes... i am DONE with school... but i am so very far from having the knowledge a seasoned nurse possesses... so what i am attempting to do is to pathetically use my journal as a form of review of things i learn in the work day... and hopefully i will update on random neat stuff i do outside of work... but until then... here goes:

Recipe for an Arterial Line procedure:

-OB towels (Blue) [...the ones my dad brings home to wash cars :)]
-250 ml bag of 0.9% NaCl
-Pressure line kit (can be used for CVP's and Pulmonary artery cath's as well)
-Pressure bag [which i can get from the corner storage room]
-Mask and HairNet <--- i DEFINITELY need this :]
-Sterile gloves [2+]
-Surgical gown [2+]
-2 Radial Artery Catheter sets
-1 Tegaderm for IV [awesome dressing]
-2 Chlora Preps
-Separate 3 ml syringe
- Lidocaine (Xylocaine)
-General purpose sterile tray
-3/8 18" silk suture set
-Box of gauze {sponges)
-Bio Patch


... and i think that was it... oh yeah... and i brought it all in a pink bucket :)

I learned that i am very slow... and that i need to pick up that pace... however... i started off really well in the morning... but learning new things on top of learning other new things provides for a very fast and high workload day...

...No matter what at the end of the day... i MUST remember the reason for me becoming a nurse is to help people...

P.S. i wish i didnt type at 15 word per minute... or else i would easily do this every single night...
