So today is Ash Wednesday. This day begins the Lenten journey as we await the resurrection of Jesus Christ (which is on Easter). Ash Wednesday is a very important day to me because is signifies change. As Catholics, we go to mass and receives ashes on our forehead. The ashes signify a form of public humility as we begin our repentance during this season.
I was taught that Lent is a season to reform your life. Not by just giving up things, but by doing more than the norm that a good christian would do. I would like to mention these changes, however i would really like to make sure i stick to them. So i am going to wait until the end. I am afraid. Nothing drastic at all, people attempt to give this kind of stuff up every year, but i know it will be hard.
On another note, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG SIS!!
Well, her birthday was 2/23/09.. but big whoop!!
I Love you Bern!!
